Anika Mittle
“I sincerely hope that my generation will take steps to ameliorate the ongoing climate crisis. I would like to think that one day, my grandchildren will remember me as someone who played a tiny role in the movement to preserve our planet’s precious and finite resources.”
Anika is from a neighborhood on western Long Island called Roslyn Heights, where she lives with her parents and younger sister. She is inspired by activities that place her in a natural environment, like swimming in the ocean or hiking. Anika is passionate about protecting and conserving the natural environment and hopes to study Environmental Science in college. She is also a member of the Climate Museum Youth Advisory Council. Anika is excited to be participating in Climate Speaks to increase awareness about the current crisis and to encourage intergenerational dialogue.
