Chyonika Roy
“What inspires me day-to-day is my school community because of how resilient it is. It’s also inspiring to make progress and continue to improve where our school is in the world.”
Chyonika came to New York City when she was a baby, and has lived in Queens ever since. She enjoys reading, writing, and photography. She also sings and plays music as a way to remain connected to her culture. Chyonika volunteers for elections, as she believes it is important to stay an active citizen and to vote, if you can. Chyonika is motivated to speak out on climate because of blatant inequalities that have been left unchecked, creating a reality that feels uncomfortable to her, and she hopes to everyone.
